Matthew has a new team

Thank you, Vivek, for supporting Matthew, a 19 year old student at GRuB School. Because of your contributions, Matthew looks forward to going to school every morning and feels comfortable with his peers. He wanted to tell you his story:
Hello my name is Matthew. I’m 19 and I go to GRuB School. I would like to tell you all about my experience with GRuB. Being in GRuB has been possibly the greatest school experience of my life. I get up every day and look forward to going to the farm and being with good friends. We learn about more than just farming — we learn the way of the earth, its way of balance, and the beauty and strength it holds GRuB is a community supported aspect of agriculture. We grow food for people who need it. GRuB gives not only knowledge and teaching but self-sustainability for a stronger community — this is one of the greatest things a state can do for itself.
GRuB is also the first time public school has been a fit for me. It’s made me happier, made me feel more whole. For the first time since I’ve been in public school, I am finally with people I can love and respect as brothers and sisters of humanity. As a group we do team-building exercises, something I think all schools should do. Team building promotes togetherness and team work. It’s a challenge to support each other as some of us leave our comfort zone to try something new. It is also a challenge to use team work when we could not have completed the task alone.
Some time ago on a day at GRuB, we were given a team-building exercise: flip a large tarp over while we all stood on it without falling off. The performance of my fellow grubbers surprised me greatly. The speed and team work performed was incredible. I had always felt that it was hard for humans to work together, but that outlook changed for me. I saw a group of humans work with the intelligence and speed of one. People who came from so many different walks of life working as one to achieve a goal. That is what GRuB is at its heart: people coming together with a sense of brotherhood; a will and want to change the way the food system works not with just this state but with the world as we know it.
Once again, thank you, Vivek, for your contributions to Matthew’s future and happiness.
